November 18th, 2013 will be the fifth anniversary of the most recent match between Munster and the All Blacks.  Last year during the break for the Autumn internationals I wrote a blog about my memories of that game so for those of you who were not following this blog then (or those that were but want to reminisce) I recommend you check out that MunNZ blog to relive the great occasion and atmosphere that night, and enjoy the clip of the Haka and Barry Murphys try!

The recent TG4 Thomond Documentary is currently available on their player and worth a view.  Apparently we should be calling it Thumand Park!  Donnacha Ryan will be challenging Jerry Flannery for the TG4 commentating work when he retires as he spoke well “as gaeilge” but as Jerry so humbly called out in his recent Zero Rucks Given Blog he has the edge in style!

In other news, Gerhard van den Heever our new winger, has arrived from South Africa and is being hosted by CJ Stander for a few weeks till he finds his feet.  His nickname Shadow is much easier to use than trying to pronounce his name the way CJ does in this video (~3 1/2 minutes in)..

I look forward to hearing how the Thomond Stadium announcer Christy manages it!

Next game: November 23rd – away to Cardiff.
